SoleFamily – Pasung Project Support

Since Rotary Year 2024/25, the Rotary Club of Bali Nusa Dua (RCBND) has been supporting SoleFamily Bali and its Pasung project through regular cash contributions.

SoleFamily is a registered NGO dedicated to ending the practice of “Pasung”, in which individuals with mental illness are shackled and confined in inhumane conditions. Through a structured program—ranging from patient identification and medical treatment to rehabilitation and reintegration—the foundation restores dignity and improves quality of life for some of Bali’s most vulnerable individuals.

Following the passing of SoleFamily’s founder, Robert Stone—who had been a key driving force behind fundraising—RCBND decided to strengthen its commitment. Since February 2025, the Club has taken over 50% of the monthly instalments for SoleFamily’s ambulance, with the remaining 50% generously covered by a club member.

The ambulance plays a critical role in the program, enabling the safe transport of severely ill and disabled patients, as well as providing dignified end-of-life support for patients and their families.

RCBND has resolved to continue this financial support until the ambulance is fully paid, ensuring continuity of care and reinforcing its long-term commitment to improving mental health care and human dignity in Bali.
