Annual Children’s Christmas Party

IMG_4425.jpg

Bali hosts many glamorous events each year—but one stands out for entirely different reasons. The most eagerly anticipated year end celebration is RC Bali Nusa Dua's Annual  Children’s Christmas Party.

Since 1992, the Club has partnered with leading hotels in Nusa Dua to host a special day for disadvantaged children from all backgrounds across Bali. Before the pandemic, up to 350 children aged 6–12 attended each year. Following a pause during COVID-19, the event resumed in 2023 on a smaller scale with around 175 children. In 2025, the celebration was hosted by Merusaka Nusa Dua, which will again host in 2026.

For the children—some travelling from as far as Singaraja—this is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Arriving in Nusa Dua, they are welcomed like VIP guests and spend a joyful day in a festive setting. The program is open to children of all faiths and includes a wide range of activities: cake and cookie decorating, games, face painting, music, dancing, and plenty of food—hot dogs, fried rice, and, of course, lots of ice cream.

Participants come from a variety of organisations, including children with disabilities, schools for the blind and deaf, community centres, and children supported through programs such as cleft care initiatives. The day often culminates in lively performances—from singing and dancing to truly memorable moments like wheelchair break-dancing.

And no Christmas celebration would be complete without Santa Claus, who visits each child with a gift. Children receive specially designed tote bags filled with school supplies, health items, and small treats.

This event is made possible each year through the generosity of donors, partners, and volunteers coming together to create a day of joy, foster inclusion, and impart lasting memories for children across Bali.
